About
A Rural Operating System for India.
Bharat Smart Village Networks (BSVN) is a non-bureaucratic, citizen-first digital backbone for rural India. We believe a farmer in Barabanki or a young woman in Ranchi should not have to navigate dozens of portals, agents and middlemen to access the schemes, services and opportunities that already exist for them.
Our mission
Turn every government scheme, market opportunity and essential service into a single conversation in the citizen's own language. No paperwork, no jargon, no queueing.
How we are different
- We are not a marketplace. Service providers are matched only when the assistant identifies a real need.
- We are not a government portal. We work with government, not as government.
- We are voice-first and built for ₹4,000 phones on patchy 4G.
- Every citizen owns and controls their BSVN identity and consent.
Governance
BSVN is built by a not-for-profit operating company under the JanMangal Foundation, with oversight from a board comprising rural development practitioners, technologists and elected panchayat representatives. Code is open, audits are public.
